It is not fatness! It is development. French actress Brigitte Bardot was quoted on her full hourglass silhouette. She has what you will call a fully grown woman’s body. This means she has both her upper and lower body at the right proportions with tiny waist. Her body shape screams Marilyn Monroe, Betsy Compton, Sophia Loren and Liz Taylor.
She was a screen legend famous for her love of the South of France and for her iconic seaside style in her film roles. She was born in Paris in 1934 and had every intention of becoming a ballet dancer when fame smiled on her, she was discovered by a french actor, writer and director Roger Vladim whom she later married. It was Roger who suggested her for the film Les Lauriers Sont Coupes, the film was never made but is spurred her on to pursue an acting career. After several smaller roles, her career was launched when Vladim cast her in his controversial 1956 film – And God Created Woman where she acted as Juliette Hardy. The Bardot neckline was named after her love of the wide open neck style that exposes both shoulders especially used for knitted sweaters or jumpers although it is also used for other tops and dresses.
With her killer curves and super-feminine silhouette, Bardot popularized the bikini in her early films such as Manina(1952) released in France as Manina, la fille sans voiles. The following year she was also photographed in a bikini on every beach in the south of France during the Cannes Film Festival. She also made Saint-Tropez popular and the town of Armação dos Búzios in Brazil, when she visited the place in 1964 with her then boyfriend.
